AHAS is a project of Washington State University Vancouver

AHAS Outdoors! (Environmental Education Program)

AHAS Outdoors is a year-round environmental education project that integrates art and science in a project to encourage youth empowerment and environmental stewardship.

With the vision to create equitable access to the natural world through directed environmental education, AHAS has partnered with Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center to provide outdoor and environmental education to students who have limited opportunities for outdoor learning and recreation.

AHAS Outdoors moves AHAS learning opportunities into the natural environments of forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats. Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center has the facilities and environments to encourage plant and animal restorations, habitat explorations, environmentally conscious construction projects, student created nature video and photography, etc.

Primary source of funding is a No Child Left Inside grant from Washington State Department of Parks and Recreation.
