Research
All AHAS research projects are conducted under the supervision of Dr. Susan Finley, and are approved by the Washington State University IRB. Current research projects include:
- Studies of transfer of learning from AHAS to school.
- Following learning experiences of fbormer student teachers the first two years of teaching employment to determine best methods for evaluation/assessment of teacher education components of AHAS, including understanding readiness to teach for diversity.
- To increase the visibility of AHAS locally through planning and enrichment coalitions and underscore its unique features of curriculum alignment with state standards and teacher education.
- To evaluate systemic barriers in elementary school classrooms led by teachers who have participated in AHAS and to determine transfer of summer experience to academic year teaching.
