How can I participate in AHAS?
Community participation is needed to support AHAS. Instead of field trips (which are costly) we invite professionals from the local community to participate as speakers, teachers, and mentors of AHAS students. Please consider a contribution of your time and skills!
We encourage parents of students to volunteer. We also ask parents and other AHAS friends to connect with their churches, employers, schools, and families to host collection drives for school and art supplies. We must emphasize that we need donations of new materials only. Drives like these are necessary for AHAS to have enough school, art, and craft supplies, children's books and games. Flyers, phone reminders, and speaking to groups can encourage success of such drives. (Specific lists of items are available.)
For further information about AHAS, please contact Dr. Susan Finley at finley@vancouver.wsu.edu or Jeanette Crone at jeanetteahas@comcast.net.
